The 2-day Agri-Food Business planning workshop, is a program funded by the Ministry of Agriculture and has already supported over 200 entrepreneurs across BC since inception in 2015.
This workshop is an invaluable opportunity for you to invest in yourself and build a solid foundation for success. By participating in this workshop, you will become well-versed in the business planning process, market access and analysis, product development, financial planning and management, quality assurance, labeling and packaging, production economics and logistics. Not only will you build-out or refresh your business plan, it’s a great opportunity to get insight from and network with fellow Agri-food companies.
Rita Kim of Partners for Growth Advisory Services is a strategic growth specialist who empowers entrepreneurs that want to have a healthy, sustainable financial foundation move into a growth phase. Rita’s track record speaks for itself – from helping start-ups prepare strong business packages to access capital, to existing businesses successfully manage financial transitions, acquisitions and mergers, and making key decisions that impact the bottom line, she is an asset to the food industry. As a certified trainer and facilitator, Rita has developed and delivered over 100 workshops and seminars on ‘understanding finance for business’ and ‘how to get financing’. Using her 20+ years of lending experience and streamlined approach, Rita provides structured financial solutions for growing companies from start-up to succession.
Sylvia Chong of Foundtree Product Design is the creator of the Food Business Accelerator Program that helps small, micro and start-up food businesses that are struggling to go from concept to commercialization develop market-ready products. Her understanding of food processing stems from her education in Food Science from the University of Guelph, where she completed both a Bachelors and Master’s degree. With over 15+ years of industry experience, she has served in many industry roles, from quality assurance to research, marketing, sales, product development, food safety and regulatory compliance. Sylvia is a Food Processing Human Resources Council approved facilitator, passionate about helping clients mitigate risk and advancing the food industry. She is excited to share her skills with entrepreneurs like you.
